For the engagement of one of our favorite couples, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to Jason Statham, we’re falling in love all over again.
Rosie stepped out wearing a gorgeous 5-carat round diamond in a platinum setting with small diamonds built into the tasteful setting. According to reports, the diamond was flawless due to the fact that Jason wanted the diamond to match his bride to be.
About the ring
Beginning in the center, the 5-carat flawless diamond is a classic choice. The rather large diamond is cradled in 4 double prongs at north, east, south, and west, giving it a unique appeal and a more stable setting.
Just below the center diamond are smaller diamonds that wrap around the base of the ring and make it shine from every angle. Followed closely by 5 or 6 small diamonds that run down the shank, the engagement ring is built to draw attention to the center diamond.
With platinum being a naturally white and very heavy metal, no expense was spared when creating this setting. The platinum adds security to holding the diamonds tightly in place and gives the reflection of perfection.
Designing your own
Though we love everything about Rosie’s ring, we could make some suggestions that will make her ring attainable to own.
The flawless diamond is a rare and very expensive choice that can be easily substituted with a diamond of clarity between VVS2 and SI2. These clarities look the same to the naked eye and carry a much lower price tag.
Also, 5-carats is a lot of weight to put on a finger; a 1-carat round diamond keeps the wow factor and maintains the classic appeal. If you want something a little more shocking, even a 2-carat diamond will drop jaws without having a bank account the size of Jason’s.
The setting for this diamond would look perfect for a 5-carat or a 1-carat diamond in white gold instead of platinum. With the close resemblance of white gold and platinum, you wouldn’t be able to see the difference
